Tourmoto launches holiday and hospitality packages in MotoGP, SBK and BSB
12 January 2009: Tourmoto, a new UK-based travel company offering holidays and hospitality for European MotoGP, SBK and BSB rounds, is preparing to open its booking store on 1 February.
At the Tourmoto store, customers will be just a few clicks away from ordering their motorsport experience. Bike fans can put together their package, with a combination of hotel accommodation, transfers and hospitality. Hospitality is provided by the racing teams to offer a complete behind-the-scenes experience. Team packages vary according to the facilities available, but full packages include a weekend paddock pass, hospitality area with paddock tv, all meals plus snacks and drinks, pit walk, exclusive garage tour and access, meet and greet the riders session, terrace access, merchandise, event programme, Tourmoto staff and a welcome evening. The racing teams involved will be announced from 1 February.
Tourmoto does not offer flights or insurance, but does provide advice on which flights are available for customers to book. The website also provides a comprehensive guide to the circuit, local area and location, as well as last year’s race stats.
Commenting on the launch of the booking store, Tourmoto’s managing director Amanda Askew said, “I am delighted that the Tourmoto booking store will soon be launching. Our customers will now be able to tailor their motorsport weekend to experience exactly what they want, whatever their budget. It’s all about getting closer to the behind-the-scenes action!”
The first events are Valencia SBK, Jerez MotoGP and Brands Hatch BSB. Tourmoto will also be exhibiting at the Ally Pally Motorbike Show.
Editor's note:
That's the press release. What it doesn't say is that we've know Amanda for a while and have yet to meet anyone more committed to doing things right. In all the doom and gloom going around, it's refreshing to find someone that you can actually trust and who genuinely seems to be more concerned about the customer (that's you, by the way) getting the most out of the experience than anything else.
We've been fortunate enough to be ina position to help, and though I can't tell you who the teams that Tourmoto are working with actually are (apart from anything else, that would rather steal Amanda's thunder when she decides to go public) I can tell you that the hospitality, access and all round bloody wonderful experience will be second to none.
This is a brilliant idea for race fans, offering as it does real, up close and personal, contact with the people who actually make the racing happen. The riders, mechanics, pit lane crews, managers, everyone. You'll be as near as makes no difference a part of the team for the weekend. The only downside is that, if it's an SBK round anyway, you're very likely to also be mixing with the MBT team. But you'll come away with a whole new level of understanding about what goes on, and will probably never feel the same when you're sat in front of the TV watching it again. Oh, and it doesn't do any harm to add that Amanda is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet, anywhere.
