Moto Guzzi has
been branded over the years for
its strange tourers and somewhat retro image of its bikes since
the demise of the Le Mans some years ago. But at Intermot in Munich
Moto Guzzi has just revealed a stunning new bike, which even in
prototype form is a definite winner. The MGS/01, was given its first
public viewing last week has been received with enthusiasm by all
who saw it. Guzzi says that they will put the bike into production
if reaction is favourable by the general public. All I can say is
roll on Guzzi, this bike is absolutely stunning and it needs to
be made now. I for one would certainly want to own one.The MGS/01
is based on the Furia, an existing model in their range, but has
been heavily restyled and redesigned by Guzzi specialists Ghezi
and Brian. The bike stays with the traditional Guzzi transverse
992cc, 90-degree, air-cooled V-twin motor giving approx 102bhp.
The prototype is fitted with an new underseat exhaust a-la Ducati,
a sharp nose fairing, revised frame and an enormous box-section
swingarm with Guzzi’s traditional shaft drive. |
